327 posts · Joined 2010. #7 · Jun 20, 2015. Sounds to me like a battery problem. The rear wiper (and stop/start) are sensitive to low voltage. No problems since the new battery was fitted. But NJS were adamant that you can't just go to Halfords and chuck a cheapo battery at it.
The licensing is also different - it can be purchased only for a year and stops working after the period expires. You will need an iOS certified Bluetooth interface or a WiFi interface. The iPhone Multiecuscan app works only with WiFi ELM327, CANtieCAR v4.x/v5.x, OBDLink MX WiFi, OBDLink MX+ Bluetooth interfaces.
It's functioning as designed - if there's a blockage at the nozzle you don't want to blow the fuse for the pump, or force a piece of grit onto the screen. From memory, there are a couple of plastic inserts on the underside of the bonnet near where each nozzle is. If you pull them off, you should be able to see the pipes.
